Company Story
Lee Custom Homes was founded with the goal of creating personalized living spaces of enduring quality. In 2014 brothers Dan and Derek Lee started their first project together. From the beginning the two brothers were able to focus on their strengths, allowing the partnership to naturally work. Dan came from a construction background in the Sioux City area and focuses on creativity, hands on building, and job site management. Derek came from a commercial real estate background in Minneapolis and is focused on design, customer relationships, and project management. Together they have over 25 years of construction and real estate experience. Even though they are focused on different areas of the day to day business, Dan and Derek share the same values of attention to every detail, high quality customer service, and relationships with customers, employees, vendors and sub-contractors.

What We Can Do For You
Floor Plans and Design Service
One of the things that sets us apart from other home builders is our in-house design service. Although we would be happy to work with your architect, designer or floor plan, we enjoy working with our customers to help design a truly custom home. Keeping this process in-house allows us to quickly make changes to your plan. Combine this with 3D service and you can see every detail of your home before construction begins!
Budgets and Job Costs
What goes hand and hand with a detailed house plan? A detailed budget. From the beginning we have focused on hitting our numbers. Lee Custom Homes has a very detailed self-developed cost model that allows us to put an accurate bid on your project. Not only will you know exactly what your house will look like when it's done, you won't have have any surprises on the final bill.
Once Construction Begins
You can take confidence in our experience when it comes to your project. Our team is as focused on a quality finished product as you are. We have a great network of local subcontractors and material vendors that share our values, your project will be in great hands from start to finish.
Details
From framing to finish work, we do it all. By limiting subcontracted services to concrete, mechanicals, roofing, drywall, and painting we streamline the process and limit the variables in scheduling. Our process helps keep your project on time, we know nobody wants to miss a season at Okoboji.

Cabinets, Millwork, and Details
This is where our craftsman shine, the more detail the better. It doesn't matter if you're going for a classic lake cottage look or something clean and modern, this is where precision and attention to detail matter most.
SOLD
2020 wasn't so bad, we sold our Pikes Point spec house and gave the customers a beautiful home with some beautiful features.
We were thrilled to add a few additional custom items to their list such as the built-in bunk beds in the bonus room above the garage.
With plenty of projects going on right now and more stuff coming in the spring, we are excited for what the future holds and excited to keep everyone updated with great pictures.
